Differences
  • Disney is an american conglomerate 
  • Vertigo is a small independent company
  • Disney can cross promote their product the lion king, through their other platforms, whereas vertigo cannot as they only own one platform. 
  • Vertigo do not have the budget to make it as technical as Disney. Disney have a huge budget and therefore able to market this product worldwide across different forms of social media which Vertigo would not be able to afford.
  • Due to Vertigo's budget, the may not be able to afford resources and digital devices as good as Disney's  making disney's production better due to their higher budget. 

5 Interesting facts about the lego movie-

  • The lego movie illustrates the concept of tent pole film production.
  • Tent pole- A major motion picture which is expected to generate major income for a studio. This can be redistributed and used to support and fund other releases. this tent pole supports the whole tent. Basically when a film earns alt of money and so is able to fund other films produced by that company or a franchise, for example Lego movie 2.
  • The film is a production from a major, global studio. It illustrates its conglomerates, warner bros. 
  • Its success was a major importance to the studio in terms of funding other products, such as merchandise, other films with the producer Dan Lin.
  • The film is also an example of how a global studio, Warner Bros releases a film in a specific national territory, the UK. 
  • There are questions of ownership and purpose of the film, mention between Lego and Warner bros, both using the film to promote their own products through iconic characters, e.g. batman, superman and numerous lego toy models. 
The Warner Bros benefits from tent-pole as the profit they gained was used to produce and fund a franchise to the first lego movie. As well as this other films produced by that company can also be funded by the success of the lego movie.
